"When signing up for this photography class, in the back of my mind I assumed it was going to be easy. The only action I thought I would do is take pictures of random things to pass the class. Well, that thought was incorrect. Now that this class is about to end, I learned the true meaning of photography. The way I see photography is to capture aspects of my day to day life that makes me, me. Producing a picture of the outstanding colors of the retail store I work at, my younger sister, and Oakland is what makes me, me. These photos mean the world to me because they are all different subjects of pictures but still remind me of me. My sister, whom I see as a younger version of myself is always in my life. Fighting or not, I still need to live with her and share a bathroom with her. Also, a photo of GAP, where I spend most of my time, is something big in my life. Does not matter how much I hate that place and do not want to be there, it makes me, me. Lastly, Oakland. The stunning pictures of the Bart shadow that are about the Black Panther members are what makes me keep on fighting. Fighting the same way they were fighting the mid-1900’s. This is me."
